Court grants 15 Russians bail

A Lagos Federal High Court granted bail to 15 Russian sailors charged with alleged unlawful importation of arms to Nigeria.
Presiding judge,Justice Okechukwu Okeke released  to the Russian Ambassador in Nigeria as a bail condition.
Presiding judge,Justice Okechukwu Okeke also granted bail to the vessel “MV Myre Seadiver” in a bond of 500,000 dollars to be obtained from First Bank Plc.
The accused are: Zhelyazkov Andrey, Savchenko Sergel, Chichkanov Vasily, Varlygin Igor, Komilov Alexander, Lopatin Alexey and Baranovskly Nikolay.
Others are: Mishin Pavel, Llia Shubov, Dimitry Bannyrh, Alexander Tsarikov, Kononov Sergel, Korotchenko Andrey, Vorobev Mikhail, and Stepan Oleksiuk.
The accused are charged together with their vessel, on four-counts, bodering on alleged unlawful importation, and possession of firearms, as well non declaration of the content of the vessel.
The judge adjourned the case to April 10 for hearing.
