‘Trespassers have encroached into Radio Kaduna’s land’

Trespassers are encroaching into the land of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) at Gonin Gora in southern part of Kaduna State, zonal director of station in the state, Malam Ladan Salihu, has said.
Speaking to newsmen yesterday, Salihu said the land belongs to the transmitting station of the English service of Radio Kaduna.
“The transmitter became obsolete and FRCN Kaduna is hoping that government will replace it. We are in custody of the land titles, but some people came out of the blues with a letter, purportedly given to them by our headquarters to do ‘sight and services’ on our land at Gonin Gora. I have not received any official communication from headquarters with respect to Ghamjee Konsults, the people who claimed that they got a letter from our head office. For this reason, we consider them as trespassers and criminal elements,’’ Ladan said.
Daily Trust gathered that a quit notice has been given to the church which is situated on the land.
A source who spoke to Daily Trust said, “the late Alhaji Dahiru Modibbo, when he was managing director allowed the church to exist on the land when FRCN acquired the land in the spirit of good neighbourliness.”
The zonal director, while pledging to do everything within his powers to prevent encroachment into the land, added, “allowing Ghamjee Konsults on the land will be like vacating Dahiru Modibbo House (the head office of FRCN Kaduna).”
According to him, FRCN Kaduna earlier lost its parcel of land at Malali in Kaduna, a landed property at Dikko road and other property in similar circumstances. He said the matter may result to a breach of peace if not carefully handled.
