FG to check sharp practices in hospitals

Federal government is devising ways of restoring confidence in the Nigerian health sector, by performance evaluation and eliminating sharp practices in hospitals.
The minister of state for health, Dr Muhammed Ali Pate said the move is aimed at raising the standard of care provided in hospitals and also take stock of their performances to see if there has been any improvement.
Speaking during a task team workshop on clinical governance and quality improvement yesterday, Pate pointed out that silly mistakes by hospitals have caused a lot of patients their lives which he emphasized is unacceptable.
Earlier, the vice president of Institute for Healthcare Improvement, Dr   Pierre Barker, pointed out that one of the best ways to ensure quality care is to motivate hospital staff see their patient’s satisfaction as their greatest desire.
