The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has trained and conducted emergency drill for the staff of Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to prepare the commission to respond to disaster.
The exercise which was conducted in collaboration with the FCT Fire Service, FRSC, Red Cross and other stakeholders, evacuated all the staff of the six-floor commission to the muster point down stairs after an emergency alarm.
The Registrar of CAC, Bello Mahmud, who was represented by the director of compliance, Mr Kunle Omowale, said the evacuation drill will go a long way to sensitize the entire commission on the need to prepare for avoidable and unavoidable disasters and emergencies.
Speaking, the representative of Director General of NEMA, Engr. Bala B. Gambo said that in most emergency cases, people die because of panic and stampede hence the need for the simulation exercise mitigate the shock.
