Sheikh Bauchi’s school graduates 8 Quran memorizers

Markaz Rahamatillahi Litahafizil Quran, the Kwara State branch of Sheikh Usman Bauchi’s School of Quranic Memorization at the weekend graduated eight students who have completed memorization of the Quran.
The graduands who are from different states of the federation, including Lagos, Kwara, Osun, among others, were presented with the Quranic memorization certificate by the founder and foremost Islamic scholar, Sheu Bauchi, who was represented by his son, Sheikh Ahmad Tijaniyy.
The latest graduands comprising of six males and two females increased to 68 the number of Quran memorizers which the school has churned out since inception 16 years ago. Patron of the school, Dr. Mohammed Haruna Al-Mubaraq, recalled that the establishment of the school was informed by the absence of Quran memorizers in the state.
“Sheikh Usman Bauchi’s daughter was 14, when she memorized the Quran and in Kwara State here, we never had any Quran memorizer. So, through my wife and in order to encourage women education, we decided to request permission to establish this school which she is the proprietress. This school combines western education with Quranic education. So, we are like an antidote to Boko Haram. If we can teach children western education here, it means Boko is not Haram. If you don’t learn Boko now, what would you say of the Boko that was learnt during the prophet’s time when he asked people to go and learn”, he said.
