Assembly jerks up Kebbi budget to N125bn

This year’s N114 billion budget for Kebbi State has now been jerked up to N125 billion by the state house of assembly. Presenting the budget passed by the assembly to Governor Sa’idu Usman Dakingari for assent at Birnin Kebbi yesterday, House Deputy Speaker Garba Mohammed Bena said the increase became necessary after discovery that the state Sure-P project was not included. He said the Sure-P project amounted to N7 billion, while crude oil revenue which amounted to N3.5 billion had not been captured in the budget. Governor Dakingari lauded members’ effort for a “job well done” and assured people of the state to implement the budget fully.
