Brothers jailed 2 years for swindling bizman

A Kano State High Court has sentenced two brothers to two-year prison term each with an option of N100,000 fine for conspiring to sell 2,430 bags of beans worth about N15 million belonging to a business man and refusing to pay him. Also, the duo, Audu Haruna and Sani Haruna, were asked to pay the plaintiff the sum of N7.1 million as compensation. The accused admitted that they sold 2,400 bags of the beans at the cost of N7,140,000, but added that 70 bags were destroyed by pesticides. In his ruling, Justice Yusuf Ubale found the convicts guilty and sentenced them to two years imprisonment each with an option of fine.
