Bauchi seeks support of Cairo varsity on Arabic, Islamic education

The Bauchi State government has called on the management of Al-Azhar University in Cairo to assist the state with lecturers at the College of Legal and Islamic Studies and to establish a center for Arabic education at the state owned university. Governor Isa Yuguda made the call yesterday when he received members of the council of Da’awa and welfare of converts from Al Azhar University Cairo in Bauchi. He commended the Egyptian government for its intervention on Arabic and Islamic education, and urged it to maintain the tempo. Leader of the delegation, Dr Ahmad Muhammad Zaid, said they were in Bauchi to see for themselves achievements so far recorded by the council.
