LG to hand over Sardauna’s house to bureau

Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State, has said that it will build a new secretariat at the cost of N113 million, and that upon its completion, it will hand over the personal residence of the late premier of Northern Nigeria , Sir Ahmadu Bello, which it is currently using as secretariat, to the state History and Culture Bureau for research purposes. Chairman of the council, Alhaji Zayyanu Gandi, said the house would be given a face-lift before it would be handed over to the bureau. The chairman said construction work on the new secretariat would start next month, and that the site has been acquired and compensation of N3 million paid to owners of the land.
