Nigerian judges have been cautioned to stop treating corruption cases with “kid gloves”.

The Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL), an anti- corruption group in a press statement issued yesterday said the caution became necessary following recent developments where cases bordering on fraud and diversion of public funds are not handled transparently.

Executive Chairman, Debo Adeniran who signed the statement said, “We are worried that some corruption cases stalled or dismissed in our courts have always speedily sailed through in London courts and in other jurisdictions. We are worried that our judicial officers especially our judges are giving the impression they are there to do the bidding of the very corrupt persons before their courts while the victims are harassed and intimidated.”
