Dutse Federal varsity wants N2bn contracts completed before November

Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, Professor James Ayatse, has called on contractors handling projects at the permanent site of the university to ensure completion of the projects before November to enable the university commence its third academic session at the site.
Professor Ayatse made the call yesterday while handing over the site to the four contractors handling the projects.
Ayatse said the about N2 billion contract comprises construction of central administration building, a library, an ICT centre and two number faculty buildings.
The vice chancellor said the facilities at the institution’s take-off site can only support the activities of the university for the first two academic years, hence the need for the speedy completion of the permanent site.
He also urged the contractors to ensure execution of quality works, saying, “You have an opportunity not only to display your professional skills, but to make history. You are entrusted to develop the first physical facilities at the permanent site of a new university and you are handling very important projects in the life of the university.”
Professor Ayatse said so far, the university has committed over N2 billion to the development of take-off facilities at the institution.  He commended the Federal Government and Katsina State government for their support.
Also speaking, registrar of the university, Alhaji Muhammad Yusuf Abubakar, assured the contractors of the university’s support.
