21 arrested over Riyom, Barkin-Ladi attacks

Twenty one suspects have so far been arrested by the Plateau State Special Task Force (STF) in connection with July 7, 2012 attacks in Riyom and Barkin-Ladi local government areas of Plateau State.

The attacks led to the death of late Senator Gyang Dantong and Gyang Fulani as well as several others.

STF media and information officer Captain Salisu Mustapha said at a media briefing in Jos yesterday that the incident precipitated a lot of rumours particularly as regards the number of casualty and extent of damage, saying the task force conducted a series of operations in the areas and that several arrests were made and arms and ammunition recovered.
