Nebo gets Power ministry, Tanimu, Special Duties
Category: News
President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday appointed Professor Chinedu Osita Nebo from Enugu state as the new minister of Power.
Malam Kabiru Tanimu Turaki from Kebbi state is appointed Minister of Special Duties in the office of the President.
A press statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government Senator Anyim Pius Anyim said the two ministers are to resume duties immediately.
The two ministers were sworn in by the President on Monday and they were directed to see Senator Anyim for their posting, but this could be done until yesterday.
The ministry of power had no substantive minister since August when the incumbent Barth Nnaji was forced to resign following the crisis that trailed the privatization process in the power sector.
Meanwhile, the Defence ministry remains without a substantive minister, Mohammed Bello Haliru from Kebbi state vacated the post about a year ago.
