Shehu of Borno wants tight security around Nigeria borders

Shehu of Borno Alhaji Abubakar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi at the weekend called on the Federal Government to strengthen security in all the country’s international borders so as to control illegal aliens and arms into the country.
The royal father, who made the call when Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo paid him homage in his palace, said all the international borders in the state are too porous which makes it easy for the entry of illegal immigrants and shipment of arms into the state.
Alhaji Garbai also called on the Federal Government to expedite action on the oil exploration in the Chad Basin, electricity for the people of the state as well as revamping activities in the lake Chad so as to create jobs for thousands of youths which he said will help reduce the security challenges currently being faced in the state and other northern states.
The monarch appealed to all leaders at all levels to be fair to all in order restore confidence in the people as well as peace and harmony in all parts of the country.
