Cop shoots colleague to death in beer parlour

Tragedy struck Ondo town in Ondo West local government area of Ondo State at the weekend when an Assistant Superintendent of Police, Kazeem Usman, allegedly shot his colleague, Inspector Adelakun Lawal, to death.
The incident, according to a source, happened at Ejankole beer parlour in Oke Osun area of the Ondo on Saturday evening.
It was reliably gathered that the suspect serving at Ajagba police division in Irele local government area of the state was said to be a close friend to the deceased.
The duo went together for relaxation at about 5 pm before argument was said to have ensued between them. And in the process, the source said Usman pulled out his pistol and shot his colleague.
It was learnt that the suspect, who sustained injuries while trying to escape from the scene of the incident, was later apprehended.
Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer Wole Ogodo confirmed the incident, saying the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department.
