State governments have been urged to collaborate with the Federal Government in building basic infrastructure that will be beneficial to citizenry.
Information Minister, Labaran Maku, made the call when the National Good Governance Tour team inspected the recently dualized Abakaliki route of the Lagos-Mombasa Trans-African highway in Ebonyi State.
Ebonyi State Governor, Martin Elechi, told the team that his state undertook the project in order to ease congestion on the highway.
He said the project cost N6.8 billion and the state would apply for a refund from the Federal Government.
While commending the state government for the initiative, Maku said the Federal Government is open to more of such collaboration.
