Kano State Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso yesterday commissioned a poliomyelitis center at the Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Hospital in Kano city, according to a statement by his spokesman, Halilu Ibrahim Dantiye.  At the event, Kwankwaso said establishing the facility is part of efforts to eradicate polio in the state, noting that Nigeria is still being counted among polio endemic countries. While thanking the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Dangote Foundation for their support to the polio eradication drive in the state, the governor urged other well- meaning citizens to emulate the organizations.
