Goje loses bid to transfer trial venue

Former Gombe state governor, Alhaji Muhammad Danjuma Goje, who is standing trial for fraud in a Federal High court sitting in Gombe has failed to secure a transfer of his case to a avenue outside the north east zone with preference to Abuja.
Ruling on the motion for the transfer of the case, Justice Babatunde Qadiri said there has been no threat to life of any party in the matter saying there is no point transferring the case out of Gombe.
He said “for now nobody should be harassed. There is no way that we will not come back to Gombe. If anything happens to anybody let me know.”
In their separate responses after the ruling, counsel to Goje, Barrister Uche Chris (SAN) said they will appeal the ruling saying there is threat.
