Niger NSCDC wants vehicles to tackle bunkering

Niger state command of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has appealed to the state government to assist the organization with operational vehicles to combat oil bunkering in the state.
The state commandant of NSCDC, Ikemefuna Donatus made the appeal yesterday during a courtesy call on Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu in Minna.
He said “my organization is facing a lot of challenges of bunkering in three local government areas of the state, namely, Munya, Tafa and Gurara and I am therefore calling for proper collaboration between the people in the affected areas and the command to stem the tide”.
In his remark, Aliyu promised to support the NSCDC morally and financially to enable it function efficiently saying the strength of the organization in the state put at 1,320 is grossly inadequate.
