FRSC to curb pedestrians’ death on Abuja-Lokoja road

Worried by the incessant death of pedestrians on the Lokoja- Abuja highway the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has initiated the construction of a three- kilometre median from Natako junction to Felele area end of the road.

The Kogi state Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr Mohammed Garba stated this while speaking with journalists in Lokoja yesterday.

He said the corps has approached Gitto Construction Company to construct the median to reduce the number of pedestrians being killed on a daily basis along the stretch from Natako junction and Felele area in Lokoja.

The FRSC said it will not pay for the project as the federal government had earlier included the median in the contract for the dualisation of Lokoja-Abuja road awarded to the contractor.
