Man kills 5 siblings in Benue

A man suspected to be mentally unstable has slaughtered five of his siblings near Naka earth dam at Gwer West local government area of Benue state. The suspect, Edwin Jato was alleged to have taken his brothers to the dam area on pretext of a surprise package but on reaching the spot, he killed them one after the other.
Popularly referred to as Torjor, Jato was said to have been treated at the Federal Medical Center, Makurdi for mental illness after which he was believed to have been cured until last Sunday evening when he murdered his siblings.
Community sources alleged that the suspect used machete on his victims and fled afterwards.
However, people in the community mobilized youths who caught up with him and snuffled life out of him in a manner typical of jungle justice.
Secretary to the local government, Mike Torkuma said the culprit was beaten to death by the community people.
Police spokesman, Daniel Ezeala confirmed the incident but decried the use of jungle justice by the community.
