Gunmen attack shop in Maiduguri, take away day’s sales

Unknown gunmen numbering five in Maiduguri yesterday besieged the shop of a well-known business, Alhaji Ibrahim Mai-Sugar, and carted away unspecified amount of money.
Witnesses said though the gunmen, who rode on a tricycle, did not shoot at anyone, it was gathered that workers of the business man were held at gunpoint as the attackers warned to shoot anyone that attempts to resist.
“This is the second time that gunmen attacked this shop,” a trader close to the robbed shop located just behind Ahmadu Bello Way along the Monday Market in Maiduguri said.
It was gathered that Mai Sugar was absent when the incident occurred but he was around when the previous attack was launched a few months ago.
As at the time of filing this report, there was statement on the robbery from both the police and the Joint Task Force (JTF).
