He spoke at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja yesterday while launching the Growing Girls and Women in Nigeria initiative aimed at providing access to life-changing opportunities for girls and women in various areas. The president stressed the need to pay more attention to the female folks since they determined the growth of the country.“Any society that tries to sideline women, of course, you’re reducing your journeys of growth. As a government, we’ll continue to encourage our women, both big and small, so that they can continue to fly higher,” he said.Earlier, Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala said: “When a woman is enabled to earn income, she may invest 90% in her family, while the man will invest 30%. The women tend to take the extra and put back into the family, while the men put theirs into other things.”
