Al-Makura warns against ethnic militias

Nasarawa State Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura yesterday warned those instigating violence and threatening the peace in the state to desist or face the full wrath of the law.
Al-Makura, who spoke through his spokesman,  Sani Musa Mairiga in Abuja, said the warning became imperative following renewed violence in some parts of the state.
He said the governor is worried as no responsible government would fold its arms and watch some disgruntle elements unleash hardship on the citizens and vowed to deal with perpetrators of violence in the state.
On the recent violence in the state, he said: “All those arrested in connection with the violence will soon be charged to court. I want to make it abundantly clear that security of lives and property of the people of Nasarawa State would not be compromised by the administration of Alhaji Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, this is why the governor ordered the deployment of security men to all the flashpoints to checkmate the unwarranted killings of innocent souls.”
