Kaduna communities experience heavy rainfall

There was unexpected heavy rainfall in some communities in four local government areas in the southern part of Kaduna state yesterday.
Residents described the down pour as unusual in the month of January. The rain fell in communities like Wadon, Fadan Kaje, Madauchi, Zonkwa in Zangon Kataf Local government, Crossing communities in Kachia Local government, Iburu, Idon and other part of Mararaban Kajuru and part of Chikun Local government areas.
The rain which started at about 4pm in some parts of the local governments lasted for hours.
Speaking to Daily Trust, a resident in Wadon, Luka Bawa said that the rain is a sign of blessing in the year ahead.
“We have not experienced rain fall in the month of January. This is an unusual thing and we believed that God has poured blessings to our community,” he said.
Another resident in Kachia local government, Sabastine Maza said, “God has a purpose for this. The rain came at a time people least expect it and we believed that it is a blessing.”
