Yero: Security is my priority

Kaduna State Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has identified security of lives and property of the people of the state as his major area of priority.

Yero, who visited the national secretariat of the PDP yesterday to commiserate with the party leadership and formally introduce himself as the new governor, said he has made security his topmost priority because it was very crucial to the development of the state.

Fielding questions from reporters after meeting with the national leadership of the party, Yero said: “Our major priority is security because it is very important to development; we want to see how we can unite and secure our place to attract development.”

Extolling the virtues of his late boss, Yero said he had a very cordial working relationship with the late Patrick Yakowa whose death he said has created a vacuum. “We really missed his experience and exposures,” he said.

The governor, who was accompanied by his deputy, Ambassador Nuhu Bajoga as well as chairman and state executives of the PDP in the state, said the visit was to formally introduce himself to the party leadership having assumed duties as the new governor.

PDP national chairman, Bamanga Tukur ,who received the delegation, harped on the unity, stressing that the party (PDP) is supreme and greater than individual members.
