FG to make Nigeria hub of trade in Africa —Maku

The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to making Nigeria the hub of trade and investment in Africa by supporting the growth and development of made in Nigeria products.
Information Minister Labaran Maku said this yesterday when he led the National Good Governance Tour team to the office of Abia State Governor Theodore Orji.
Maku, who described Nigeria as a highly pri-vate sector driven country, called on indigenous artisans to promote locally manufactured goods.
The minister advised local manufacturers, particularly makers of clothes, shoes and bags in Aba, to promote their brand by using a ‘made in Nigeria’ trademark rather than use trademarks of foreign manufacturers.
Maku reminded that the tour, which he described as non partisan, is aimed at examining key projects across the country and to serve as an opportunity for citizens to engage in national conversation.
In his remarks, Orji said the tour is not only an opportunity for the state to showcase its progress, but also to figure out its mistakes, learn from them and implement corrections.
While inspecting industrial market in Umuahia, Maku urged state governments to develop skilled workers by constantly training such persons who will participate actively in the development of the country.
