Woman seeks justice over police assault

Mrs Odiah- Anne, mother to Chukwuma Harry who was Thursday allegedly shot and wounded by a policeman at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos has asked for investigation and justice into the shooting. The victim was left with an injury on his abdomen.
Harry, 40, and a taxi driver who shuttles at the Airport, was allegedly shot by a policeman named Agabi, now under detention, after he (Harry) resisted Agabi’s effort to extort money from him at a public car park within the airport. The victim whose car has registration number, FY 542 KJA is now receiving treatment at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, (LUTH) when our correspondent visited the hospital yesterday.
“You can see how he is critically injured; we want nothing more than justice that is all we are asking for.” Odiah –Anne who paid a visit to her son at the time told our correspondent.
According to her, her son had done nothing wrong to warrant him being shot by the policeman who is suppose to be a protector saying government needs to check the activities of “overzealous” law enforcement agents.
“If a policeman that is supposed to protect you now turns against you, who do you turn to? Odiah –Anne asked.
