NMA laments robbery attacks on doctors

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has expressed worry over armed robbery attacks on three medical doctors in Lagos metropolis within the last five days.
A statement by NMA chairman, Dr Francis Faduyile said the attention of the association has been drawn to the recent attack on medical doctors in Lagos.
The statement said a week ago, a consultant orthopaedic surgeon was shot at close range in his car in broad daylight around 4:30 pm on his way from work at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Maryland.
The statement said that on January 11 at Anthony area of the Ikorodu road, another young doctor, Dr Irawo Adamolekun, was accosted in his car while in the traffic and the assailant shot him at close range too.
NMA therefore expressed its dissatisfaction with the ugly incidents and expressed readiness to partner with security agencies to improve the security of its members.
