Office of the Chief of Godogodo in Jema’a local government area of Kaduna State has been razed by fire.

A resident in Gidan-Waya, where the office is located, said the fire started at about 1pm on Monday and lasted three hours before it was put out.

“We have no fire service in this area. The state fire service that could have helped to save the office is in Kafanchan, 15 kilometres away from here,” Bala Musa said.

Speaking to journalists yesterday shortly he visited the office, Chief of Godogodo Malam Iliya Ajiya Antang said the incident happened when he was away in Kaduna.

Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Public Relations Officer Zakari Abubakar Adamu confirmed the incident, saying the agency mobilised its men to the area to ascertain the extent of damages.
