FCE Zuba rejects 30,000 candidates

Only 2,000 of the 32,000 candidates sent to the Federal College of Education Zuba by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board were granted admission.
Deputy Provost of the college Mrs. Francesca Gundu revealed this to students during the 2012/2013 orientation exercise which held at the college on Tuesday.
Gundu said by admitting the 2,000 students, the college had exceeded its carrying capacity by 500 and those who gained entrance should count themselves lucky.
She said management was working towards upgrading the college to degree awarding status which is likely to sail through next year.
She advised the students to take their studies seriously and shun advances from cultists.
Dean Student Affairs Mrs. Zainab Abbas said the unit was there to take care of the welfare of the students and promote peaceful coexistence among all members in the college community.
Abbas urged the students to shun examination malpractice and stay focus on their studies.
She said as part of the orientation there would be a tour of all schools within the campus and another tour to the permanent site.
Students Union Government President of the college Adamu Osanutu advised students not to be intimidated by their lecturers but approach them for help whenever they had problems.
