Kano state police command has declared wanted Hussaini Ibrahim, an aide to Minister of Education and former Kano state Governor Malam Ibrahim Shekarau for sponsoring the snatching and setting ablaze of 4,015 ballot papers during the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections. Addressing newsmen in Kano, the state police commissioner Ibrahim K. Idris said Husaaini Ibrahim of Kauran Mata village in Madobi local government who is also the chairman of the PDP vanguard in the area snatched some of the ballot papers and tore them. He said Ibrahim together with 18 others all of the same address armed with dangerous weapons snatched and set ablaze 4,015 ballot papers for governorship and State House of Assembly elections. According to the commissioner, 14 suspects were arrested including some exhibits. He added that the suspects mentioned one Iliyasu Musa Kwankwaso as their sponsor. The alleged sponsor according to police escaped into the bush when men of the police stormed his home.
