The Progressive People’s Alliance (PPA) has tasked President-elect retired General Muhammadu Buhari not to compromise but sustain his campaign promises by ensuring zero tolerance for corruption, saying Nigerians would measure the success of his administration by the anti-corruption rating.
National Chairman of the party, Peter Ameh, gave the charge today in Abuja in a chat with reporters.
He said both Buhari and his Vice President–elect, Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo, should be seen together by the electorates to be working to dismantle corruption and entrench transparency, saying the woes of the country was due largely to corruption and the greed of the privileged few who amass wealth.
“Nigerians have by the election entrusted their welfare and development of our father land to our President-elect. Since integrity formed the major base of Gen. Buhari’s victory, we wish to believe that our president elect will sustain that noble attribute by ensuring zero tolerance for corruption as there is no doubting the fact that in spite of our country’s riches in material and human resources, we still remained weaklings among the other nations due largely to corruption and the greed of the privileged few to amass wealth even for their unborn generations,” Ameh said.
