Gombe SURE-P to employ 3,000 youths

The Gombe State chapter of Subsidy Re-investment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P) has concluded arrangements to provide three thousand employments to women, youths and vulnerable groups, aimed at alleviating poverty in the state.

Speaking during the flagged-off ceremony of the programme in the state, Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, represented by his Deputy Tha’anda Jason Rubainu, said his government was ready to partner with SURE-P.

Governor Dankwambo said SURE-P is aimed at ensuring that millions of youths, women and vulnerable persons are gainfully engaged to reduce the poverty level.

Chairman of SURE-P Gombe State chapter, Alhaji Adamu Yaro Gombe, said the primary target of the SURE-P was to make available to the greater majority of Nigerians, opportunities to have sustainable lives by providing avenues for self-actualization.

He said the SURE-P is aimed at strengthening the demands side of safety nets by making benefits payment conditional upon the use of public services by providing individual households with income supplement that improve their ability to access the services.
