BOI disburses N60bn loan to SMEs

The Bank of Industry said it has disbursed N60 billion loan to operators of Small and Medium Enterprises in the country since 2009.

Its Managing Director, Mrs Evelyn Oputu, said the money is part of the N100 billion loan scheme set up by the bank to assist SMEs in the country.

Oputu disclosed this in Lagos weekend at the public presentation/unveiling of Nigeria’s Ankara innovative caps and hats by Crown Natures Nigeria supported by the bank.

She commended the company for its commitment and prompt payment of the loans they collected from the bank and urged other SMEs to borrow a leaf from the gesture.

Oputu added that the innovative products of the company with Ankara materials represented Nigeria and would strengthen the federal government’s campaign for patronage of Made-in-Nigeria products.
