I quit APC because of injustice – Sen Misau

Senator Isah Hamma Misau has said he defected from the APC to the opposition PDP because of the injustice meted on him and others.

The senator, representing Bauchi Central, said this on Sunday when he met with the local government PDP officials at the party’s secretariat in Misau Town, headquarters of Misau Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

Hamma cited lack of internal democracy in the APC as the reason he dumped the party for the PDP.

He said as a founding member of the APC, he and his supporters, as well as other members of the party, were short-changed in the party’s recent local government and state congresses.

He said despite their pleas to the leadership of the party, it failed to address their grievances.

The senator, who debunked the insinuation that his political popularity was waning because of his defection from the APC to the PDP, expressed confidence over the chance of his re-election in 2019 on the platform of any political party.

He said he had provided dividends of democracy to the people of his senatorial district in the last three years, listing the provision of solar boreholes, transformers and schools across the six local governments of his constituency.

The senator commended Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for handling the matter concerning the Department of State Services (DSS) and other issues.

He, however, said issues concerning the federal political appointments needed to be dealt with in the interest of the nation.
