A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State, Alhaji Bashiru Ibrahim Wadan-Kawu, has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration’s efforts to block loopholes that aided corruption in the nation’s public institutions.

Wadan-Kawu, who is vying for the House of Representatives’ seat in Jos North/Bassa constituency, lauded President Buhari when he commissioned projects in his constituency in Jos yesterday.

It could be recalled that last Thursday, President Buhari launched a book at the Presidential titled, ‘Making Steady, Sustainable Progress for Nigeria’s Peace and Prosperity: A Mid-Term Scorecard’ of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

He said the book showed that Mr President not only understood that the fight against corruption was beyond arrest and prosecution of suspects, but that his government had also strengthened public institutions for accountability and transparency.

On his ambition and what he has done for his constituents, Wadan-Kawu said he is vying for the seat because his people had not been well represented at the national level.

“Some of my achievements even before the party’s primary include commissioning of transformers in Jos North and Bassa, and the repair of water pipes across the Jos North LGA that were abandoned for 20 years,” he said.
