Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state has reiterated that the state’s resources are for the development of the state and not for private pockets nor for the governor’s pocket.
He explained that the state has grown past the era when godfathers dictate to their stooge-governors and the state’s resources were siphoned.
Speaking during the 2017 Mother’s Summit held at the Prof Dora Akunyili Women Development Center, Awka, Obiano said he has not and will never divert the state’s resources to anyone claiming to be his political godfather.
He called on the citizenry to vehemently resist any attempt to impose a stooge on them, assuring that the development they had seen in the first three and half years of his stay in office is a foretaste of what is achievable in the state.
Describing his mission in the state as an apostolic work, the governor said he targets a fiscal sustainability where the state would no longer depend on the federal government monthly allocation to execute its developmental objectives at the expiration of his eight year tenure.
"Only a tested and trusted hand in human and material resource management can achieve this for Anambra, hence my desire to complete my second term." he added.
